Why?
I am doing this blog throughout the next few weeks (possibly months) to keep people informed about Wyatt's corpus callosotomy which is scheduled for Monday May 14, 2018. I am also writing this as a form of therapy for myself. I cannot quite remember when the idea of this procedure was brought up by the neurologist, my wife reminds me it was about a year ago. When presented to us the idea of "brain surgery" seemed quite an extreme but throughout the year he seemed to have more and more of what are termed "drop seizures" and the thing that was buried in the back of our minds were brought up again and after extensive research and prayer we finally decided around March of this year to go ahead with it. At first we thought that summer would be a good time but we later bumped it up to May because of the recovery/therapy timeline could last up to three months which would run into the next school year.
